In autumn of 2021, Backcountry.com launched their loyalty rewards program. It was established in anticipation of brick and mortar stores opening across the US.
The creative direction led customers on an expedition through their shopping experience. We achieved this with mountainous, aspirational photos, icons with soft, organic curves, and a vibrant palette of three blues, one for each tier.


With the help of our purposeful planning and execution, the Expedition Perks program quickly gained 50k+ memberships and was embraced by the outdoors market. Outreach continued through email and social media campaigns, serving as an important driver of continued retail and e-commerce sales.


The project helped me understand every piece that goes into a campaign with this sort of reach. Collaborating with our Senior Designer, Creative Director, Photographer and Executive Board also offered insight into the most effective ways of presenting ideas and explaining the reasons behind them. A year after our launch, I was well versed in what continued support is required to build and maintain a large strategy and creative effort.
